Film : Back To The Future I
Introduction: Analytic breakdown of film
Film was written by Robert Zemeckis and Bob Gale, in 1985
Gist of the film – A young man is accidentally sent 30 years into the past in a time-traveling machine. He now has to make sure his parents still fall in love, so he can make sure he’s still conceived. The main takeaway of the film is understanding our flaws and limitations and putting in conscientious efforts to better ourselves. We are not perfect but can always try to be better. We can’t necessarily change the course of history but we can change the actions and decisions we make, to ensure a better present and future.
Throughout the course of the film, we see the message of bettering ourselves through character development of Marty (Main Character) as he gains the courage to believe in his talent and that of his band. The courage to take a risk and send out his demo tape to a rock ‘n roll record company. Additionally we see a character development with George (Marty’s father) who can be described as a man with no backbone, in the first scene where we’re introduced to him. In this particular science, Marty witnesses Biff (George’s brother/Bully) bullying and taking advantage of George’s cowardice. George’s clearly used to such treatment explains to his son that he’s not a fighter. Thus insinuating that his peaceful nature should breed unfair treatment towards him. Later on in the film, we see George stand up to his brother by giving him a taste of his own medicine and humiliating him, in the process of saving Lorraine (His wife). This conveys the message of being able to be peaceful but still assert your boundaries. This brings us to Lorraine’s trauma. She was originally raped by biff and regrets her marriage to George due to his inability to stand up both for himself and his wife. She is seen as controversial as she dislikes Marty’s girlfriend, Jennifer seeing as she reminds her of younger self. In response to her trauma, Lorraine immerses herself in alcohol. It’s insinuated that she got raped because of her independent, forward self. Leading her to internalize the wrong message concerning blame and obscuring her view of what a woman should or could be. Thanks to Marty’s intervention we get to see George

saving Lorraine from Biff, which allows them to rewrite their story as George gets a back bone. And, finally, we also see the fading of Marty and his siblings from the photograph when he seemed to have made the wrong decision in trying to set up his parents. This teaches us that we fade into the background if we choose to keep limiting ourselves or see no wrong in actions. We see the fading reverses when Marty gets it right, which means that our worth or significance increases when we do right by ourselves and invest ourselves.
Method:
The movie name, Back to the Future, introduces science in this fiction film. Doc invited Marty Mcfly to see his new invention, the time machine that is made out of the Delorean sports car. They could travel through time after setting the time and date on the machine. Marty Mcfly accidentally used the machine and traveled back to the time when his parents just met. He has to convince Doc that he is from 1985 and his goal is to reunite his parents to make sure they fall in love. Hence, Marty Mcfly will exist in order to travel back to save the future Doc. The world of the film is different from our world where time travel is not possible. Humans couldn’t get on the time machine and travel back in time. We are not able to change our past and rewrite our future in the way we wanted. It is forbidden by the law of physics and time doesn’t share the freedom of multi-direction. Many scientific communities found it highly unlikely that time travel would be a possible technique for humans.
How true is the Science? — helps with the Results
Time travel isn’t possible, epsocialy during the birth period of the film. Although time travel is theorized to be possible through the laws of physics. As further discussed by Screenrant, “If a person were to travel faster than the speed of light, they could theoretically move into the future, but the principle doesn’t work in reverse, which would rule out traveling into the past entirely. As New Scientist duly points out, wormholes could provide the answer. According to Kip Thorne (physicist, smarter than us), if one side of a wormhole travels at light speed and the other side remains fixed, time begins to dilate, creating a “past” and “future” on either side of the tunnel. Though Thorne’s theory is hotly debated, it lends a certain amount of credibility to the DeLorean’s two-way time travel in Back To The Future.”. Meaning that the possibility of time travel is only a theorized possibility that seems more likely to travel to the future, not past.
Results:
Since the movie was first made back in 1985, the science & technology used were much more limited compared to what we have today. So it’s very astounding that Doc Brown as well as the creators of the movie were able to put together the DeLorean as well as figure out how it can be able to go fast and to time travel.

So if the movie was to have been created in more recent times, there would be more advanced parts, technology, and science used in the creation of the DeLorean as well as new possible ways on how it can get moving to be able to time travel.
Discussion:
The film Back To The future is saying that we should better ourselves and to take risk that is the only way we are going to see the changes we hoped for. Throughout the show some of the changes by showing us the present in the beginning of the movie where things in Marty live were rough and after when he finally build the courage to send his band demo tape to a record company. It also shows how after the time travel his father finally had courage to face his bully. They use science fiction to convey this message because they want to put a little twist to regular movies at the time of making and time traveling that falls under science fiction was a innovated way to catch the audience attention. People will learn from this film that if we want to make change and better ourself we need to take the first steps no matter how hard it is, that’s the only way we are going to progress.
